Reflections Dance Company, a dynamic program of Northern Lakes Arts Association (NLAA), is dedicated to creating a welcoming and joyful environment for all people, of all ages and body types, to have fun and move their bodies. As part of its mission, Reflections believes that dance should be accessible to everyone, offering an inclusive space where creativity and self-expression flourish.
Rooted in NLAA’s commitment to enriching the community through the arts, Reflections provides a diverse range of classes and performances, inviting dancers of all skill levels to explore the joy of movement. Meet the Instructors
Reflections Dance Company instructors are a dedicated team of dance lovers who enjoy working with our students of all ages. Our experience combined with a strong sense of community creates a positive atmosphere at our classes.


Director, Instructor
Molly Olson
Molly danced with the Hamline Dance Company in college. She has been coaching/teaching dance for over 25 years, as well as directing and choregraphy for numerous theater productions. Molly started Reflections Dance Company in 2018 after the first production of Reflections on Water. She teaches ballet, contemporary, and acro classes as well as serving as the director of the company. She is currently a math teacher at Ely Public Schools, and serves as the Ely Community Education Director.

Assistant Director, Instructor
Megan Wind
Megan teaches tap, jazz, and social dance. She has choreographed for a handful of NLAA productions. She performed tap dance with several professional companies, including Keane Sense of Rhythm and Kaleena Miller Dance, where she performed nternationally, including in New York, Chicago, and Poland. Megan grew up dancing competitively and studied theater and dance at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts Megan works in graphic design and social media marketing in the non-profit sector.

Managing Director, Instructor
Crystal Poppler
Crystal grew up in Ely and has been dancing since the age of three. She has choreographed for many different theater productions over the years, and is the director of the Ely High School musical. She began dancing with the Reflections Dance Company with her daughters in 2020 and has been the youth tap teacher for the last few years, adding beginning adult tap to her plate this past year. Outside of dance, Crystal is currently the Principal at Tower Elementary. She loves to perform and be onstage with her daughters.

Instructor
Kristi Marshall
Kristi teaches early childhood education at the Ely Public Schools. She has 4 children of her own, and loves working with kids! The youngest acro students are her favorites. When she is not working with students, she loves taking walks with her dog, spending time with her family, and traveling.

Assistant Instructor
Ellie Marshall
Ellie first started dancing in 2013 at Studio North, then joined gymnastics in Virginia at Northern Twisters for a few years before joining Reflections in 2019. She has been a featured dancer in several of the productions. Ellie is an assistant teacher with the acro class.

Assistant Instructor
Charlotte Hegman
Charlotte started doing ballet at age 3 with Miss Ellen, then took classes at Studio North. She was part of Reflections On Water in 2018, and has performed in all of the company’s live shows. She also plays volleyball for the Ely Timberwolves. Charlotte helps out with ballet classes.
