It thrills us to announce the first artist that we are showcasing during our 2023 Art Show Season in Collaboration with Ely's Historic State Theater.

Lauren Rehbein's "Melting Away Winter" will take place from March 13th to March 26th at the State Theater. We will have a reception for her and her work on Friday, Saturday, March 18th, at 5 PM.

Lauren has been creating art ever since she was in elementary school. She first began acrylic painting during a year-long intensive where she studied under local artist Joe Baltich. Although acrylic paint is her primary medium, she also enjoys making art with watercolor, colored pencils, collages, oil pastels, and graphite. The forests, lakes, and wildlife of Northern Minnesota greatly influence her work.

A grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts partially funds the promotion of our 2023 Season of Events.
