Prepare to be captivated by the raw, hauntingly beautiful voice of Guatemalan singer-songwriter Mercedes Escobar, live at the Vermilion Fine Arts Theater on September 27th at 7 PM. Known for her unique fusion of blues, country, and Latin influences, Mercedes’ vocals have been described as a spellbinding mix between Linda Ronstadt and Howlin’ Wolf. With her genre-defying sound, dubbed Latin Americana, she weaves together the gritty energy of old-school blues and the rich sonic traditions of her Guatemalan roots.
After a 4-year hiatus due to visa restrictions, Mercedes has returned to the stage stronger than ever, with performances that leave audiences transfixed. Having shared the stage with Grammy Award-winning producer Gaby Moreno, she is now working on a bilingual full-length album that includes collaborations with music legends like Joe Bonamassa and Luis Conte.\
